Overview

Cast for Cash ("we", "us") operates the Cast-for-Cash Tournament Trail website and registration platform in South Africa. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information we collect

  • 1Name, surname, phone number and email address
  • 2Team name and angler profile details
  • 3Co-angler name, surname, phone and email when provided
  • 4Junior angler name and surname when entered
  • 5Payment method and payment status for tournament entries
  • 6Tournament results, weigh-in data and season standings linked to your team

How we use your information

  • 1Tournament registration and start-list management
  • 2Communication about events, results and account matters
  • 3Publishing competition results (team names and weights — not phone or email on public pages)
  • 4Season standings and angler history on your profile
  • 5Newsletter updates when you create an account (you may unsubscribe at any time)

Service providers

We use Google Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database and file storage. The site is hosted on Vercel. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective terms and security standards.

Retention

We retain your profile and entry data while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter so that historical results and season records remain accurate.

You may request deletion of your account data subject to our need to retain certain competition records.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact us at support@castforcash.com to exercise these rights.

We will verify your identity before processing a request.

Consent

By creating an account and ticking the consent checkbox, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. You may withdraw consent by contacting us; withdrawal may limit your ability to register for events.
