Overview

The SA BASS Cast-for-Cash Tournament Trail is open to anybody. No club affiliation is required. Win cash and trophies by entering as many events as you wish. Monthly tournaments serve as qualifying rounds to the annual Cast-for-Cash National Championship.

Cast-for-Cash teams may enter at the venue and pay the entry fees during registration.

Team Composition

  • 1Each team consists of a maximum of two persons per boat.
  • 2All teams must nominate who the skipper, co-angler and one reserve angler for the season will be.
  • 3You may enter as many events as you wish across any region.

Boat Requirements

Fishing is from boats only. All vessels must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 15 hp outboard engine
  • Must be propeller driven
  • Minimum 3 metres (10 ft) in length

No kayaks, jet skis, barges or similarly cumbersome craft will be permitted.

Fishing Rules

  • 1Each team is allowed to weigh a maximum of five (5) fish per day.
  • 2This is a catch-and-release event. Teams are penalised for weighing any dead fish.
  • 3The top three heaviest bags for the day are declared winners at prize giving.

Prizes & Awards

  • 1Cash prizes are awarded to the top three teams at each event.
  • 2Various lucky draw prizes are also up for grabs at prize giving.
  • 3You must be present at prize giving to receive any prize.
  • 4The annual National Championship features a R100 000 prize pool.
